Islington Boat Club (IBC)
Islington Boat Club (IBC) Charity provides a variety of activities within an educational Royal Yachting Association and British Canoeing framework, including canoeing, sailing, powerboating, kayaking, narrow and Bell boating as well as mountain biking, martial arts and arts programmes.
Over 3000 young people use IBC each year. They work with most schools in Islington and youth groups in the local area. They also work with Pupil Referral Units, providing activities for children who have been excluded from the main schools system and run a alternative provision programme for NEETs.
They rely heavily on income generated from grants, venue, hire, birthday parties, commercial fees from private accredited courses for example sailing, narrowboating, powerboating to subsidise youth activities.
