All community group places have now been taken – limited places still available for businesses!

Whilst many smaller businesses want to get more active in the community we know that they can find it difficult to find a great partner to work with. Whether you are a sole trader or a larger business, this event will enable you to meet several potential partners at one event and find out about the different ways you can get involved.

This is not about joining a corporate social responsibility scheme where you have to pay a large fee. It is a networking opportunity where you can make contact with groups working directly in the communities served by your business, and often with customers and future potential customers of your business.

Places are limited to 24, so please make sure you book in advance!

Islington Chamber of Commerce and Voluntary Action Islington are coming together for this event, inviting smaller businesses and voluntary organisations, to introduce themselves to each other and explore opportunities for making a difference for Islington’s residents by developing connections and working together. It is specifically aimed at smaller businesses and community organisations, who are often not in a position to be involved in larger corporate social responsibility initiatives.

The event will consist of an introduction, ‘speed networking’ and some general networking and discussion time.

Places for this event are limited to 12 from community organisations and 12 from businesses. To get the most out of the event some preparation will be necessary and all participants will be asked to complete a short questionnaire before attending. Organisations might be offering opportunities to get involved with the activities of particular community groups, funds to support local initiatives, skilled volunteers, potential Board members, meeting or office spaces, publicity opportunities and more.

Community organisations already confirmed include representatives of those working with mental health, faith groups, gambling addition, health and wellbeing, older people and community arts.

BOOK YOUR PLACE NOW: To apply for a place please email the name of your organisation or business, name and role of the person who would be interested in attending and email contact details to by close of business on Thursday 25th February. We will then contact you to confirm your place and provide a short registration questionnaire to complete before the event.
